Dreamy Destination: Morocco for the Adventurous Spirits
Last September I had the pleasure of embarking on a remarkable trip to Morocco. Morocco proved to be a photographer's paradise, with its awe-inspiring architecture, bustling markets, and picturesque landscapes that seemed straight out of a movie. The colors, textures, and intricate details of every corner we discovered were a delight to capture on camera. From the golden dunes of the Sahara Desert to the breathtaking beauty of the Atlas Mountains, each location told a story of its own. Morocco revealed itself as a magical destination that left an indelible mark on my heart and camera roll. Whether it’s for your honeymoon, a trip with loved ones, or your destination event, elopement, or wedding, I can’t recommend Morocco enough.
Read my tips & recommendations below!
Tips:
Find yourself a tour or itinerary that really allows you to experience the culture. Find opportunities to talk with people outside of touristy places to really learn more about what life is like in a country like Morocco. As women traveling solo, I would have enjoyed speaking to a female tour guide in some of our destinations to learn more about the experience of women in Morocco. My favorite conversations were in Merzouga with descendants of Amazigh people, who are the indiginous people of North Africa.
Be mindful of the tourist traps which is common in most popular cities. We found we were often dragged to places and expected to make purchases.
Know that Morocco is a primarily Muslim country which means that alcohol is not served in most places. You can purchase wine in certain places.
I recommend giving yourself at least 10 days or more to be able to really let all of what Morocco has to offer sink in.
Chefchaouen, Morocco’s Blue Town, was my favorite little mountain town for a bit of rest and relaxation.
Do not miss out on a Hammam!
